Help Wanted - Volunteers for an Educational Event

I am looking for a few (3-5) people that would be willing to take part in a Second Life "show and tell", as a part of a RL presentation to show an audience of people at an actual life meeting how Second Life works.

One of Edison's residents, Mavromichali Szondi is giving a presentation to a meeting of the trustees of the (British) Society of Genealogists (http://www.sog.org.uk/index.shtml) on Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 AM SLT (2:30 PM GMT).

In order to illustrate interactivity in SL and some of the basic tools we use to communicate (text chat, voice, streaming audio), I am hosting a Tea Party at the SOG headquarters in Edison Hypatia at 6:30 AM SLT next Tuesday. Mr. Szondi (using his professional Avatar) will arrive some time after that and will actually be projecting SL on to a screen for the presentation.

The point of the presentation is to illustrate how SL can bring people from all over the globe together easily, and inexpensively, to communicate with each other. The SOG is looking a SL as a way to give some of their presentations to a world wide audience.

I need several people who are willing to do the following things:

* Briefly (like a sentence) introduce themselves to the trustees in text chat; mentioning where you are in the world would be a good thing here

* Briefly speak using SL Voice, probably just a statement or two

* Behave as you would normally on the 19th Century Grid

* Use a human avatar

Our audience will be a group of mostly male, 60-80 years in age, British, rich men. So...not very tech savvy. And a certain...narrow world view.

I hope to have volunteers from all over the world, with a variety of English "accents" if possible. I will also pull together a notecard that details exactly what will be required of the attendees. (most of it

I am approaching this as an actual life professional engagement as an Instructional Designer and Trainer...you know...the stuff I did BEFORE SL. ;-) Please contact me in world or via email (gabrielle.riel@gmail.com) if you would like to participate in this.

Thank you! :-)
